Houston Alliance of Volunteers in Medicine (HAVMed), a 501(c)3  not-for-profit organization, gives the opportunity for volunteers to help address some basic healthcare needs in impoverished and medically under-served communities.  Our volunteers travel far to provide free medical services, donate their time and use  their own resources to travel.

Our aim is to promote and restore health by making  basic medical services affordable and accessible through short term medical missions. We  support initiatives of organizations with the same goal especially during natural disasters and calamities. We collaborate with local and international organizations and health care providers, fostering a true alliance of volunteers in medicine to help maintain health in the community.

HAVMed’s projects are funded mainly by  donations and organized fundraising events. We bring most of the needed instruments, provide all the medicines and  supplies necessary during the medical mission. Since the organization is ran by volunteers, overhead expenses are minimal, majority of funds raised go towards expenses for the medical mission.
